Intretech and BE WTR Launch Sustainable Water Facility in Beijing

Beijing, China – August 4, 2025 – A milestone moment for sustainable innovation: Intretech and BE WTR have officially inaugurated their new facility in Beijing, expanding access to premium, eco-friendly hydration across the Jingjinji region.

Following the successful launch of the first BE WTR bottling plant in Xiamen in December 2024, this new site in Beijing marks the next step in our joint venture’s mission – delivering locally produced still and sparkling water without single-use plastics or unnecessary transport miles.

Sustainable Hydration in the Capital

The inauguration was hosted at the Swiss Embassy Residence, with His Excellency Ambassador Juerg Burri opening the ceremony, followed by Linden Lin, Chairman and Founder of Intretech, and Mike Hecker, Founder and CEO of BE WTR. Despite heavy rain, considered a good omen in Chinese culture – distinguished guests from the hospitality industry gathered to show their commitment to sustainable water solutions.

Technology for a Circular Water System

At the heart of this initiative is the BE WTR BiG 400 bottling system, manufactured by Intretech. The system produces hundreds of bottles of fresh, capped, still or sparkling water per hour, with each bottle reusable up to 300 times. After use, bottles are collected, cleaned, and refilled – eliminating single-use waste and significantly reducing the environmental footprint.

Local Production, Lower Carbon

This partnership supports China’s “dual carbon” goals, helping luxury hotels and high-end restaurants reduce their carbon footprint while offering guests a premium water experience, they can feel good about. By sourcing and bottling locally, we remove the need for water to be transported thousands of kilometres – a win for both taste and the planet.
